Day 1: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park. DISTANCE:               390 Km (All paved road) ACCOMMODATIONS:        Red Chilli Murchison.

Today we leave Kampala city at 5am in the morning and make our way to Queen Elizabeth National Park, we will cross the Equator on our way, today`s Ride will be all on Tarmac road but so it will give you some time to get used to with your Brand new Yamaha Tenere 700 motorcycle, we will arrive for Lunch in Mbarara city which is the second biggest City of Uganda, We will cross many Tea plantations and many beautiful views before arriving to our destination in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Check in your rooms, freshen up and we will have dinner at 8am, go to bed early as it will be a long day tomorrow. 

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth N.P to Kisoro. 

DISTANCE:               225 Km (70% Dirt, 30% Paved)

 Wake up at 6am, have breakfast and pack your luggage and have it bring it to counter, we will have breakfast and head out for the game drive on motorcycle, after 3hours game drive we will come back to our lodge and load up the luggage, freshen up and get ready to ride again, this time we will be heading to Kisoro Town, its all tarmac Road today, we will have Lunch in Kabale town, today is the day to get trained for sharp turns and corners which you will be riding for many more days from now on, we will arrive in Kisoro town around 6pm, check in your rooms and have a hot shower, dinner will be served at 8pm,

 

Day 3: Kisoro to Kigali

DISTANCE:               130 Km (All Paved)

For those who are going for Gorilla Trekking will need to wake up at 6am and head out to Mgahinga Forest where you will be trekking Mountain Gorillas, And for those who aren't going for Trekking can wake up whatever time you desire and our guide will take you to Lake Mutanda which is the deepest lake in Africa, it will off-road and in the mountains thereby you can put your off-road riding skills on test which will come handy in the coming days, after the Gorilla trekking and Lake Mutanda trip we shall all be back at the lodge by 2pm, have lunch and head out to cross the border to Rwanda, we will cross Uganda-Rwanda border Today and head to Kigali.

Day 4: Kigali DISTANCE:

today is a resting day, riders who want to sit back and rest can do so and rest can jump in the car and come with us to visit Kigali, we will go to Genocide museum, visit the famous historical sites in Kigali Town, visit local markets and we shall have a taste of some of the local food of Rwanda as well,

Day 5: Kigali to Bujumbura (Burundi) DISTANCE:               299 Km (All Paved road) ACCOMMODATIONS:        Hotel Dolce Vita Resort.

today we will wake up at 7am, have breakfast and head out at 8am to cross Rwanda and Burundi Border, its a tricky border expects some delays, we will be heading to Bujumbura city which is the capital city of Burundi, we expect to arrive in Bujumbura around 5pm, Bujumbura is very famous for its night life so some of you might have enjoy some good wine and dine outside.

Day 6: Bujumbura to Mpanda

DISTANCE:               566 Km (350 Tarmac, 200 Dirt)

Today we wake up at 5:30am and be on our way to Tanzania, we should be leaving by 6am sharp, the rush hour starts at 7am in Bujumbura so we need to get out of town before the traffic becomes too much to handle, We will have loads of off-road today with twists and turns, get ready to get dirty today but every corner brings another breath taking view of mountains, we will cross Burundi and Tanzania border from Manyovu, this border is not that busy so it should not take us long time to cross it but its Africa and there is a saying in Africa "No rush is Africa" so understand that everything moves slow, we are expecting to arrive at our hotel in Mpanda around 6pm, its going to be a long day, be ready for that.

Day 7: Mpanda to Tunduma

DISTANCE:               460 Km (All Paved)

Today we will head to Tanzania and Zambia Border, we will cross Uwanda game reserve, we will take a short trip to Lake Rukwa, the lake is located in a very remote area of Tanzania and have not seeing tourism in decades, would be a good idea to visit a place where tourism does not exists and to see a lake which is located in a very remote area, we Shall arrive at out hotel in Tunduma around 5pm which is a small town located right on the border of Tanzania and Zambia, have dinner and settle in,

Day 8: Tanzania and Zambia Border DISTANCE:

ACCOMMODATIONS:        Silver Stone Hotel.

This border supposed to be a trickiest one and we might delay so instead of waiting at the border in lines and customs, We will be staying at the hotel today while our Agent from the border does all the paper work and have everything clears for us while we can enjoy some resting time and mingle with the locals.

Day 9: Tunduma to Mpika (Zambia) DISTANCE:               400 Km (All Paved)

HIGHLIGHTS:          Waterfalls, Nice Roads, Tunduma Border Crossing(Tanzania - Zambia)

Today we will wake up at 7am and head to the border to get your visas stamped it might still take us few hours to get stamped on our passports and gets the clear, our bikes will be waiting other side of the borders and ready to go, we will head to small town call Mpika in Zambia, Mpika region is full of waterfalls, Victoria falls is not the only Water which we have to see in Zambia, there are many other Waterfalls along the way to Lusaka which we will be visiting before reaching to the mother of all the water falls (Victoria Falls). 

Day 10: Mpika DISTANCE:

We will visit around 5 different waterfalls in this Region while riding around the red dirt roads, get ready to be tired today, tons of off-road and nice views of waterfalls and rivers.

 

Day 11 : Mpika to Mkushi

DISTANCE:               350 Km (All Paved)

ACCOMMODATIONS:        Forest in.

HIGHLIGHTS:          Waterfalls, Potholes, speed limit, beautiful views 

Today we will leave Mpika around 7am and make our way to Mkushi town, it's all tarmac road today and you will be crossing many crater lakes and have lots of mountains views, we will stop for lunch at Kundalila waterfalls which is one of the most beautiful falls in Zambia and have amazing views, we will spend 1hr at the falls and then continue to our next destination which is a small Town and well known for its commercial farming, so get ready to see lots of farming in this region.

Day 12: Mkushi to Lusaka

DISTANCE:               300 Km (All Paved)

ACCOMMODATIONS:        Zenith Lodge.

HIGHLIGHTS:          Capital City, Night Life, Beautiful views

Today it will be a short ride to Lusaka for about 5hrs, so we will leave Mkushi around 8am and have lunch in Lusaka at our hotel, after lunch you can rest or head out to visit the Capital City of Zambia, don't get too excited in Lusaka, remember next day we have an early morning Ride.

 

Day 13: Lusaka to Victoria Falls DISTANCE:               485 Km (All Paved)

ACCOMMODATIONS:        Chrismar hotel.

Today we will wake up at 7am and head out by 8am to make our way to The Mighty Victoria Falls, we will be stopping at small town call Choma for lunch before heading continue to our destination. it will be a tiring day, lots of potholes on this road so make sure to ride carefully,

 

Day 14: Victoria Falls DISTANCE:

HIGHLIGHTS:          Helicopter Ride, Bungee Jumping, walking around the Victoria falls

Today we will leave our bikes behind and do all the walking around Victoria falls, we will go around 10am for Sonic Helicopter flight over the Victoria falls, it is a 25mins helicopter flight, later in the afternoon we will do Bungee jumping over the Victoria Falls Bridge.

 

Day 15: Chobe National Park. DISTANCE:

Today we will wake up early and head to Chobe National park, do morning Game drive, have lunch and come back to our lodge. Chobe National park is very famous for its herd of elephants and other big cats, Chobe National Park has the largest population of Elephants in the world, Enjoy your proper African Safari.

 

Day 16: Victoria Falls to Francis town(Botswana) DISTANCE:               560Km (All Tarmac) ACCOMMODATIONS:        Diggers Inn.

HIGHLIGHTS:          Wildlife, Botswana, Kazungula Border Crossing (Zambia - Botswana)

Wake up at 7am, had out to Francis Town, one of the biggest city of Botswana , we will be Crossing many wildlife reserves today and might be able to loads of wildlife along this road, we should arrive in Francis town by 3pm, settle in and get ready for the next day ride.

Day 17: Francis Town to Maun

DISTANCE:               500 Km (400 Tarmac, 100 Dirt)

ACCOMMODATIONS:        Drifters Maun Camp.

HIGHLIGHTS:          Thamalakane River, Nata Bird Sanctuary, Kalahari Desert

Today we leave at 9am and head out slowly to Maun, We are making our way to Namibia slowly, Maun is a Fifth largest town in north of Botswana and located on Thamalakane River, Today we will be passing around the Kalahari Desert in Botswana, we will stop at Nata Bird Sanctuary for few minutes before continuing for lunch at Nata Lodge , after Lunch we will then continue to our destination. we should be arriving at Maun by 4pm, settle in enjoy walking around this small town. dinner will be served at 8pm.

Day 18: Maun to Windhoek(Namibia) DISTANCE:               800Km (all Paved) ACCOMMODATIONS:        ZZZ Guesthouse.

HIGHLIGHTS:          Trans Kalahari Highway, Buitepos Border Crossing (Botswana -Namibia)

 

Today wake up at 7am, we will head out around 8 or maximum 8:30am , we will be crossing border today from Botswana to Namibia from Buitepos border, the border here is should be easy and we should not have any problem but hey, its Africa expect the unexpected, we will be making our way from Maun(Botswana) to Windhoek the Capital City of Namibia. We will stop for lunch at Gobabis which is a small town in Eastern Namibia and main hub to connect South Africa to Botswana via Trans Kalahari Highway. we should arrive at our hotel around late in the evening so get ready to have a long day.

Day: 19 Windhoek DISTANCE:

Today is a resting Day which you have all earned it, you are free to go exploring the beautiful city of Windhoek or stay back and relax at the hotel. 

Day 20: Windhoek to Sesriem

DISTANCE:               310 Km (100% Dirt road)

Today we will leave at 10am, We should arrive at our lodge around 3pm, have lunch on the way, Sesriem is a small settlement in the Namib Desert, in the Hardap Region of Namibia, close to the southern end of the Naukluft Mountains here we will be visiting Sossusvlei, Sossusvlei is a salt and clay pan surrounded by high red dunes, located in the southern part of the Namib Desert, these Dunes are some of the tallest dunes in the world, they can reach up to 400meters.

Day 21: Sesriem DISTANCE:

Today Early Morning we will do hot air Balloon Ride over the Dunes and in the desert, it's one of the most exciting this in Namibia, after the Balloon Ride we will come back to our lodge, enjoy some resting time and after lunch we will go out to explore the Canyons.

 

Day 22: Sesriem to Sprinbok(South Africa) DISTANCE:               840 Km (all Paved) ACCOMMODATIONS:        Blue Diamond Lodge.

HIGHLIGHTS:          Beautiful Views, Paved road, desert, Vioolsdrif border(Namibia- S.A)

 

We leave our hotel at 6am in the morning, it will be cold at the start of the journey but as the sun comes up the day will get hotter, Today it will be another long day as we will have so almost 850kms to cover and we will be crossing border to South Africa, so get ready to be tested for the longest ride of the tour. expect to be tired and exhausted today. but the longest ride will bring loads and loads of beautiful views of the mountains and dunes also the Desert of Namibia. Border crossing here should not take much time as everything is very organized, We will be crossing to South Africa via Vioolsdrif border. we should arrive at our hotel around 6pm in Springbok, settle and get some rest, dinner will be at 8pm.

 

Day 23: Springbok to Cape Town DISTANCE:               562 Km (All Paved)

Today we will leave the hotel at 10am, the roads are good and expect the weather to be pleasant , enjoy the ride today, we will have Lunch on the way and we should arrive at our hotel around 3pm, Enjoy walking around Cape town for the evening.

Day 24: Capetown tour DISTANCE:

Ethiopia motorcycle tour over 10 days to visit the beautiful Southern part of Ethiopia and the Bale mountains.

 The Ethiopia motorcycle tour starts from Addis Ababa and ends in Addis Ababa. This is an exciting adventure motorcycle tour of Ethiopia that goes to some of the most exciting and scenic parts of Ethiopia. The motorcycle tour is guided by professional motorcycle tour guides who know Ethiopia extremely well and have been guiding Ethiopia motorcycle tours for the past 15 years. 

The motorcycle tour takes you to Arba Minch, Nech Sar National Park, Lake Chamo, Turmi the land of the Hamer tribe. We ride to the village of Dimeka, ride to Konso and Yiga Alem. The motorcycle tour then takes to Bale Mountains with very scenic drives to mountain Nyala and Bale Goba. While in Bale Goba the tour on motorbikes will take us to the Sanetti plateau and then Harenna Forest from where the motorcycle tour takes us to the beautiful Lake Langano before the ride back to Addis where the motorbike tour ends.

 

Day 1: Departure to Arba Minch (Forty Springs) , which takes its name, from thebubbling streams springing up and is right in the Rift Valley making it the perfect base to explore the region.

Day 2: Visit the Nech Sar National Park and ride through beautiful tracks, fantastic for bird watching and wildlife spotting. In the afternoon take a boat trip in Lake Chamo, one of the biggest in the region, and be amazed by one of the most impressive displays of big crocodiles and hippos in Africa.

Day 3: Departure to Turmi, the land of the “Hamer” tribe. On the way, you can see different kind of tribes (Konso, Tsemay, Erbore and Banna).

Day 4 : Visit the village of Dimeka, which is particularly nice during the market day, and if suitable one of the villages of the Hamer tribe and the bull jumping celebration if lucky. Otherwise we can visit the Karo village which has also a bit of nice off road riding.

Day 5 : Departure to Konso on the same way that we came. If we arrive on time we will visit a typical village.

Day 6 : Departure to Yirga Alem going through a good gravel road , which is not much used by tourists. As always the landscape is diverse.

Day 7 : After a good breakfast we will be leaving to the Bale Mountain, which is the second highest peak in Ethiopia and is also a National Park, that can be visited by motorcycle. There you will see the mountain Nyala, an antelope endemic to Ethiopia, but also other kind of wild life (this part will have to be done by walking). After the visit we will continue to Bale Goba where we will overnight.

Day 8 : On this day we will ride up to the highest routable point in Africa, at an altitude of 4370 Mt. above see level. The Sanetti Plateau where you will see the most interesting Flora, which is found only at this altitude and If lucky we will also encounter the Red Fox also called Ethiopian wolf, which is also endemic to Ethiopia. Then we will continue to the Harenna Forest and have lunch at a nice Lodge located within the forest. In the afternoon we will return to Bale Goba.

Day 9 : Departure to Lake Langano. We will ride back on the same way we came for half the distance and then we will take an inside road which will be unpaved and fun to ride with nice views of the lake.

Day 10 : After a relaxed morning we depart to Addis. The last day it’s probably the worse traffic wise and therefore keeps the tour quite alive!!

The Rwanda and Burundi motorcycle tour over 8 days of exploring the best visitor attractions of Rwanda and Burundi on a rental motorbike. Join this organised guided 8 days motorcycle tour of Burundi and Rwanda on a KTM motorbike with a professional motorbike tour guide. The motorcycle tour starts in Kigali and goes North of Rwanda to Musanze for gorilla trekking. The motorcycle tour then proceed to Gisenyi where the Congo Nile Trail ride starts passing scenic shores of Lake Kivu up to Kibuye.

From Kibuye, we ride to Nyungwe through beautiful tea plantations. In Nyungwe you may track the chimpanzees, go for acanopy walk or visit the waterfalls, before connecting to Burundi via Cyangugu. Through Rwanda The Land of 1000 Hills to Lake Tanganyika TOUR RWANDA – BURUNDI 7/8 days

Day 1: Departure to Musanze. This first day will take us through beautiful green tea plantations, then around the Rugezi Marsh where lots of birds can be observed and finally between Lake Burera and Ruhondo before reaching Musanze, on the edge of the Volcanoes National park, land of the Mountain Gorillas.

Day 2: Musanze . You will trek gorillas or golden monkeys in the Volcanoes National Park the land of  the Mountain Gorillas. The fees for gorilla permits are US$1,500 each which is quite steep in our view, but this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for riders who can afford it. Other than gorilla trekking, there are other cheaper treks like tracking the golden monkeys at US$100 per permit. In the afternoon, a visit of a cultural village, nearby Musanze, can be organised. If you chose otherwise, we will continue to the next destination planned.

Day 3: Departu re to Kibuye . On this day, we will ride along the Volcanoes chain with breathtaking views until Gisenyi located on the border of Congo and Lake Kivu. We will then ride the Northern part of the famous Congo-Nile trail with amazing views of Lake Kivu, until Kibuye, where we will spend the night by the lake.

Day 4: Departure to Nyungwe Forest National Park . We will continue our ride on the Southern part of the Congo Nile Trail through the picturesque tea plantation of Gisovu and then ride on highland fun trails along the West side of the Nyungwe Forest National park until Uwinka reception centre, where we will stop for a Canopy Walk, a wonderful experience on top of the trees of one of the oldest and preserved montane rainforest in Africa . Then we will continue our ride until our hotel on the edge of the forest.

Day 5: Departure to Bujumbura . Today the motorcycle tour leads to Burundi through the Rwandan Hills and the cultivated plains of the Rusizi river, to finally reach Bujumbura, capital city of Burundi, on the shore of lake Tanganyika, the world’s longest fresh water lake with its beautiful sandy beaches and clear waters. The rest of the day is spent relaxing on the beaches of Lake Tanganyika.

We will start the day of this motorcycle tour with a beautiful scenic ride along lake Tanganyika then ride through the hills of the centre of the country till the city of Rutana. From there, we will have a nice ride to the Karera falls and its sacred cave. The falls form a system of waterfalls of a fascinating beauty as you travel through different paths and can find an ideal spot for a shower!!!

Day 7: Departure to Gitega . This day will take us to some  of the most scenics rides  in the southern part of Nkoma rock massif and visit the Nyakazu fault, a massive gorge like scenery with several hundred metres high cliffs, very close to the border of Tanzania. There can still be found the remains of an old German fortification. We will then continue our ride to the city of Gitega, where we still find, in its surroundings, sanctuaries of the sacred Karyenda royal drums, symbol of the whole nation and its kings. In the afternoon, we will attend a powerful traditional performance of Burundian drummers.

Day 8: Departure to Kigali , This day will drive us back to Rwanda. We will ride through winding roads between Rwanda and Burundi, crossing the border between the two lakes of Cyohoha and Rweru, offering beautiful sceneries and birdwatching. Arrival in Kigali where the motorcycle tour ends.

The Rwanda motorcycle tour starts in Kigali, goes to Musanze in Northern Rwanda the land of the gorillas, before connecting to Gisenyi where the motorcycle safari starts the ride along the famous Congo Nile Trail with fabulous views of Lake Kivu until we arrive at Kibuye where you spend the night on the shores of Lake Kivu.

From Kibuye the Rwanda motorcycle tour proceeds to Nyungwe through very splendid scenic drives, passing through massive tea plantations. From Kibuye the motorcycle tour proceeds to Nyanza where we check out Nyanza King's palace before we ride to Akagera for game drives through Akagera National Park.

Day 1: Departure to Musanze . This first day will take us through beautiful green tea plantations, then around the Rugezi Marsh where lots of birds can be observed and finally between Lake Burera and Ruhondo before reaching Musanze, on the edge of the Volcanoes National park, land of the Mountain Gorillas.

(180 km paved and mostly off-road parts) Overnight in Musanze

 

Day 2: Departure to Kibuye . On this day, we will ride along the Volcanoes chain with breath taking views until Gisenyi located on the border of Congo and lake Kivu. We will then ride the northern part of the famous Congo-Nile trail with amazing views on Lake Kivu, until Kibuye, where we will spend the night by the lake.

(200 km off-road and short paved sections) Overnight in Kibuye

 

Day 3: Departure to Nyungwe Forest National Park . We will continue our ride on the Southern part of the Congo Nile Trail, first riding toward the highlands offering amazing views on Lake Kivu and then riding back toward the lake to finally reach the Nyungwe Forest National park Uwinka reception centre by a beautiful winding paved road. We will stop for a Canopy Walkway, a wonderful experience on top of the trees of one of the oldest and better-preserved montane rainforest in Africa (better not to be afraid of heights!!!). We will spend the night in a nice campsite in the middle of the forest.

Overnight in Nyungwe Forest National Park

 

Day 4: Departure to Nyanza . This day will take us on some fun ride, on highland trails around the Nyungwe Forest, crossing the picturesque tea plantation of Gisovu. We will then ride on nice off-road trails toward Nyanza, where we will visit the King’s palace museum.

(185 km off-road and short paved section) Overnight at Nyanza

 

Day 5: Departure to Akagera . This day will take us on some fast trails across Rwanda countryside, crossing irrigated lands and riding along several beautiful lakes of the southeast part of the country. We will end the day riding on a ridge following the Akagera river plain, offering amazing views on the Akagera National Park and Tanzania.

Day 6: Visit the Akagera National Park with a Safari Car.

 

Day 7: Departure to Kigali . This day will take us to some beautiful off-road ride in the Eastern plain, along the Akagera National Park and some wetlands, habitat of numerous species of birds, then around lake Muhazi where we will stop for a succulent lunch. We will then ride back to Kigali. In the evening we will have a well-deserved last dinner.

(185 km mostly off-road with some paved sections).
