The motorcycle tour can start either in the UK or in Spain. From the UK, the motorcycle tour departs from Plymouth and then goes to Spain from where we shall catch a short ferry ride across the Gibraltar to Morocco where the 9 days’ Morocco adventure motorcycle tour takes you through some of the most amazing places you’ll ever visit in Africa. The tour takes you through the Rif Mountains to Chefchaouen and then onwards to Meknes and Fez. From here, we ride further south riding through the majestic Atlas Mountains through sharp winding mountain passes, cedar lined forests to the entrance of the great Sahara desert where Berbers still live as nomads. Itinerary
If you are starting the Morocco motorcycle tour in the UK, this would be a combination Spain + Morocco motorcycle tour for you. In Spain you will be riding on fantastic roads including the Cantabrian Mountain passes, the Picos and the Sierra de Gredos Mountain range passes. Spain will treat you to great weather, culture, food and hospitable people. You will visit Cordoba, Ronda and Segovia. The Spain motorcycle tour leg will be a self guided motorcycle tour but we will be happy to assist you plan the itinerary and book hotels for you in advance so that you arrive at each destination in Spain with pre-booked accommodation already in place.
From Madrid or Barcelona Spain, we take the ferry crossing from Gibraltar to Morocco. Arrival in Morocco and we head south riding through ancient Moroccan trading routes on the edge of the Sahara Desert until we arrive at Erg Chebbi, one of Morocco’s areas with sand dunes. We spend 2 nights at Erg Chebbi in a stunning Kasbah and while here, we take a day off the motorcycle tour to explore the sand dunes on Quad Bikes or 4x4 SUVs. In the evening, we are joined by Berber local guides with camels for a desert camping experience of a lifetime.
From Erg Chebbi, we continue with the Morocco motorcycle tour until we arrive at the Atlas mountains where we spend 2 days exploring this beautiful part of Morocco on motorbikes. The motorcycle tour route can be either on stunning tarmac roads or gravel adventure roads for the more experienced riders. While in the Atlas Mountains, we shall have a day off to ride either self guided or through guided routes to Ait Ben Haddou a Unesco World Heritage site, to Atlas Film Studios and to the Todra Gorge.
After spending a night in a traditional Kasbah hotel we’ll continue our motorcycle tour of Morocco north over the high Atlas mountains following the famous Dades gorge and Todra gorge.
Motor riding conditions in Morocco can be adventurous yet challenging. The terrain is fairly different from the one you are used to. It gets extremely dry, extremely hot, animals crossing the road without warning, pedestrians on the roads, sharp winding mountain passes, canyons, desert plains the lot. Be prepared for a motorcycling adventure of a lifetime in Morocco.
