DAY 2 - Today we depart from Lome and head to Aneho.
Today our motorcycle adventure starts as we set off from Lome! We depart from Lome with its crazy traffic jams. We first locad our motorcycles and luggage onto canoes that will get across Lake Togo into the hearts of the voodoo region-Aneho. Aneho is a beautiful and quiet town with colonial buildings and architecture between the blue ocean and a lagoon. Dinner and overnight in Aneho.
DAY 3 -Aneho-Mono & Afagnan River
Today, we depart from Aneho and ride along a small offroad track along the Mono River a natural land border with neighbouring Benin. Along the motorcycle route, you drive through small local villages that characterise most of southern Togo. You ride past local Togolese going about their daily lives until we arrive at our accommodation for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4. Afagnan–Notse
This early morning, we wake up very early and take a brisk walk to the local market where we get a chance to interact with the locals. We then get onto our motorcycle tour bikes and set to depart from Afagnan river and head to Ahepe where we have an encounter with a voodoo priest or priestess! It is believed that the villages are protected from their fetishes by the voodoo and quite impressive voodoo rituals which are performed for protection purposes.
DAY 5 - Notse – Dayes plateau – Dzogbégan
Today we depart from Notse and head out to Dayes plateau and finally to Dzogbegan. We experience fascinating contrasts of maritime region vs plateau. The plateau region of Dayes is by far the most mountainous part of Togo. We drive through sharp mountain passes and lively local villages before arriving at Dzogbegan known for its monastery which is well worth visiting. This region is blessed with splendid climate and our overnight stay is at a beautiful camp on the plateau in the middle of nature at its best.
DAY 6 -Dzogbégan – Kpalimé – Klouto
As we depart Dzogbegan, we have a range of motorcycle tour route options depending on riding levels and trip objectives. You will arrive at the lively and charming town of Kpalime where you get to taste excellent foufou ( pound yam) for lunch in a local restaurant. Kpalime has fascinating local markets, crafts shops which are perfect places for you to buy souvenirs for loved ones back home. We depart from Kpalime after lunch and drive through sharp mountain passes and a small mountain road through the forest before reaching Kouma Konda with an idyllic setting . We take an afternoon walk with a local guide through the forest to discover rich Togolese flora and fauna. We are then entertained to musical performances and dances at our accommodation before dinner and overnight.
DAY 7 - Kpalimé – Lome
The end of our motorcycle road trip is coming to an end soon. This is the last motorcycle tour leg before we get back to Lome . We depart from Kpalime and head back to Lome. Enroute the forest soon gives way to palm groves and coconut groves. You take the time to visit the Badja farm before arriving in the Togolese capital Lome where our adventure motorcycle tour through Togo ends.
DAY 8 - Lome - airport
In the morning you have a chance to visit the fetish market and the International museum of African art in Lome. Afternoon at leisure and then later transfer to the airport in the evening from flights back home.
