8 DAYS scooter tour to SENEGAL, THE GAMBIA AND CASAMANCE.
Our most popular trip. Easy to moderate riding on incredibly diverse terrain, from salt flats and jungle to beaches and off-road dirt track. We cover two different countries, but it might as well be three — Casamance, Senegal’s southern province, is a world apart. A great introduction to West Africa all around, and the perfect way to discover the diverse culture, food and music in this corner of the world.

We typically spend about 4 days of the scooter tour in the Casamance. The riding and cultural experiences in the Casamance are quite simply amazing. There are plenty of optional activities in Casamance including but not limited to; swimming,
fishing, birdwatching, kayaking, mountain biking, drumming and dance classes or simply relaxing on the beach.
While in Casamance get a chance to scooter ride on the white sandy beaches and a probable opportunity of riding into Guinea-Bisau. Ride on open vast secluded beaches with very few beach goers and on very quiet roads driving past locals going about their daily lives. Casamance is quite simply stunning.
The scooter tour starts in Dakar, Senegal’s bustling capital city. Dakar is cosmopolitan and buzzing with culture, trade, and an awesome nightlife. Dakar is a fashion capital of West Africa with exotic fabrics and yummy food dishes. You will love the vibrancy and party atmosphere of Dakar.
We recommend that you arrive to Dakar by the Saturday before the scooter tour starts the following day Sunday. You will get briefed about the Senegal, Gambia and Casamance scooter tour, you will have a chance to test out the rental scooter for the trip as well as meet up with other tour group members for a chat over dinner by the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.
For smaller tour groups, the trip starts from LaPetite-Cote which is located south of Dakar. It is situated very close to the airport and very ideal for departing out of Dakar on our first day of the tour.
Our first destination for the Senegal, Gambia and Casamance scooter tour is the Sine Saloum Delta which offer splendid scooter rides through palm groves, savannah plains and salt dunes. Hugged by the Atlantic Ocean to the West and shrublands to the East, the Sine Saloum Delta is a beautiful network of crisscrossing waterways and mangroves with the Saloum Rover flowing through the heart of the Sine Saloum Delta. A rider’s paradise. Arrival to our boutique accommodation for the next few nights is anticipated late in the evening, where you are sure to enjoy an exciting sundowner by the riverbanks.
We enjoy scooter rides in the Sine Saloum Delta region for a few days before we continue with our scooter tour to The Gambia a fascinating country with a great history and so many visitor gems well worth exploring on 2 wheels.
The Gambia is stunningly beautiful with great clean beaches, splendid riding trails and very welcoming people. On this Senegal, Gambia and Casamance scooter tour, we ride to the touristy Kololi, Serrekunda and Senegambia area, with its Caribbean style beaches and its full English breakfasts. The scooter tour continues further south of Gambia giving us an opportunity to exploring small villages, cruising through the Tandji Bird Reserve, and enjoying terrain that is unique as we continue with the scooter trip deeper into The Gambia. We will ride next to the ocean, into the jungle and into the bush for some true off-road driving as we stay away from the major highways.
After spending a few days in The Gambia it is time to depart to Casamance where we spend a few riding days on the Senegal, Gambia and Casamance scooter tour,
Casamance is the off-beaten the track, less visited southern province of Senegal. The Casamance is out of this world and perhaps not similar to any other place in the world that you have visited with before.
Casamance has unrivalled and remarkable natural beauty: the towering kapok trees, the miles of vast white sandy beaches, the mighty Casamance River. Then there is the unique mix of Diola, Fulani and Wolof cultures along with Senegal’s only recognized animist kingdom.
Perhaps more than anything else, it is the warm welcome by the friendly locals around every corner that will make you fall in love with Casamance and make you return numerous times to this wonderful part of Senegal. No wonder we spend a good 4 days of the Senegal, Gambia and Casamance scooter tour in Casamance, you’ll understand why, when you are here!
