8 days Kenya motorcycle tour to explore the beautiful South West of Kenya on motorbikes. This is a memorable 8 days motorbike safari through some of Kenya’s most authentic visitor attractions including the Great Rift Valley, Lake Elementaita, Magadi Lakes, Mau escarpment, the Masaai Mara and the thick forests of the Loita Hills. On this Kenya Motorcycle safari, you have interactions with the Masaai to learn about their cultures, customs, dances and way of life. On this motorcycle safari we have encounters with herds of zebras, wildebeest of the great migration, antelopes, giraffes, ostriches and many other smaller game and wildlife.

DAY 1

DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO NAIROBI

Today you will arrive at Jomo Kenyatta Airport in Nairobi for the start of the 8 day’s Kenya Motorcycle tour. You will be met on arrival at the airport by one of our motorcycle tour representatives.

You will then be transferred in our shuttle van to Osoita Lodge on the outskirts of Nairobi National Park. Later in the evening you will have a briefing about the Kenya motorcycle tour, you will inspect the tour motorbikes and get prepared for the Kenya motorcycle adventure that starts the next morning.

DAY 2

DAY 2: NAIROBI – LAKE ELEMENTAITA

20 km of sealed roads and 180 km of gravel roads (8 hours including stops)

We have a very early breakfast and then start our Kenya Motorcycle tour as we ride towards Ngong Hills. We ride on fairly steep roads in the heart of the Kenya Rift Valley in Kedong. We encounter game and wildlife along the riding route, we ride along the Mau Escarpment through beautiful serene villages, before descending to Lake Naivasha and finally to Lake Elementaita. Dinner and overnight at Sleeping Warrior Camp in the private reserve of Soysambu.

DAY 3

DAY 3: ELEMENTAITA LAKE – MAU ESCARPEMENT –ILARIAK CAMP

120 gravel roads and 60 km of tarmac (7 hours)

Today we say goodbye to Elementaita Lake and Lake Naivasha and continue with our Kenya motorcycle safari as we ride on a dirt track towards the Mau escarpment until we get to Narok town. We continue to ride up to Ilariak Camp our accommodation for the night. Ilariak Camp is a boutique ecolodge that is managed by the Masaai local community for the benefit of the local Masaai. Our stay at the camp contributes immensely to the betterment and incomes of the local Masaai.

DAY 4

DAY 4: ILARIAK CAMP – MAASAI MARA NORTH

120 km of dirt tracks motorcycling (4 hours)

After breakfast, it is time to depart from Ilariak Camp and proceed with our Kenya motorcycling adventure tour by proceeding to the north of the great Masai Mara after criss-crossing the Loita plains which have abundant game including the zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, giraffes and many other animals, birds and wildlife. We arrive at Salt Springs Mara camp which is our accommodation for the night. We leave the motorbike at the camp and jump into safari 4x4s for game drives in the Masai Mara in search of game and wildlife. We later in the evening return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5

DAY 5: MASAI MARA NORTH – LOITA HILLS

170 Km of gravel motorcycling tracks (6 hours)

Today the Kenya motorcycle tour departs from Masai Mara North and continues through the great Masai Mara park, passing through Masai villages and meeting with wildlife and game along the way. The tour then heads towards the Tanzania border, through the Loita Hills until we arrive at the Morijo Plateau where we camp for the night.

DAY 6

DAY 6: LOITA HILLS – MOSIRO

145 Km of dirt track + 50 Km of tarmac (6 hours)

After breakfast the Kenya motorcycle adventure safari departs from Loita Hills and continues to the town of Narok. We have picnic lunch along the way before we arrive at Mosiro a beautiful Masai village, where we have a chance to interact with the local Masai, visit a local school, before continuing our motorcycle rides to our camp for the night which has great views of the rift valley, a seasonal river and the Nguruman escarpment. We are entertained in the evening by the Masai warrior over a camp fire, as we reminisce over the adventure motorcycle tour through Masai Mara Kenya.

DAY 7

DAY 7: MOSIRO – EWASO NYIRO RIVER

100 Km of gravel roads (3 hours)

It is time to depart from Mosiro as we continue the motorcycle tour to Ewaso Nyiro River. We ride south of Mosiro through secluded quiet villages and local markets of Nguruman and the Eden Masai village. Along the riding route we come across Masai herdsmen going on about with their daily lives. We ride until arrival at the shores of the Ewaso Nyiro River which flows through the Nguruman escarpment to Lake Natron.

Our accommodation and dinner for the night is at a Masai managed straw hut lodge called Loisijo Lodge Shompole. The lodge is run by the local Masai under ecological principles of wildlife conservation and supports the local Masai communities through income generation.

DAY 8

DAY 8: LAKE MAGADI – NAIROBI

40 Km of tarmac and 165 Km of gravel (7 hours)

All good things come to an end. Today it is time to start on the final leg of our Kenya motorcycle safari tour as we depart from Lake Magadi and ride back to Nairobi. We ride past lake Magadi from the south and past Shompole volcanoes overlooking lake Natron in Tanzania. Lunch is on the shores of Lake Magadi, before we later continue with our motorcycle tour on a nice sealed road back to Nairobi where our motorcycle tour of Kenya ends.

We ride back to Osoita Lodge to be reunited with our belongings and preparations to depart from beautiful Kenya. We may have dinner at Carnivore Restaurant and then transfer to Nairobi airport for our departure flight the following morning
