Rwanda motorcycle tour explore Rwanda’s tourists’ gems on an adventure motorbike tour of Rwanda, The land of a thousand hills and beautiful smiles. This Rwanda motorcycle tour starts from Kigali and ends in Kigali. Upon request the Rwanda motorcycle tour can be extended cross border into Uganda to visit the beautiful South West of Uganda. The motorcycle tour adventure traverses beautiful parts of Rwanda in 10 days visiting volcanoes National Park, onward to Lake Kivu, we then drive the scenic Congo Nile Trail before arriving at Nyungwe Forest for a canopy walk or chimpanzee tracking.
The adventure Rwanda motorcycle tour then departs to Butare and onward to Lake Mugesera before connecting to Akagera park for exciting motorcycle game drives in the park from where the Rwanda motorcycle tour departs to go to Lake Muhazi and finally back to Kigali 10 days of pure motorcycle tour adventure in Rwanda.
Day 1: Arrival
You will be met on arrival at Kigali airport by our motorcycle tour representative who will transfer you to a hotel in Kigali for overnight, depending on your arrival time. For early day arrivals, you will have the opportunity for a Kigali city tour and visit to a genocide memorial and local market as well as local Kigali city museums.
Day 2: Departure to Volcanoes National Park.
After breakfast, it is time to start your adventure Rwanda motorcycle tour as we jump on our rental motorcycle tour bikes and drive north to Ruhengeri the home of the mountain gorillas. Enroute to Volcanoes National Park, we shall drive to magical twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.
Day 3: Departure to Lake Kivu / Gisenyi.
Optional mountain gorilla trekking, golden monkey tracking , visit to Ellen de Generes Campus, hiking of mountain Bisoke or Karisimbi. We have a chance to ride in the Kinigi area, interacting with locals and visit Ibyiwacu cultural village to learn about Rwanda’s culture, history, norms and ways of life. We learn about banana beer production, intore cultural dances, weaving, making baskets and so much more.
Later in the evening the motorcycle tour proceeds on a 1.5hrs drive to Gisenyi on the shores of Lake Kivu. We have a chance for experiencing night fishing in lake Kivu. Canoeing in groups of three wooden boats with fishermen who spend every night out on the serene waters of Lake Kivu water searching for sambaza and tilapia. Starts at 5:30 Ends at about 8:30

Day 4: Congo Nile Trail
Today we depart and continue our Rwanda motorcycle adventure riding the famous Congo Nile Trail. This is a spectacular riding route that rivals the NC500 in Scotland, we explore magnificent views of lake Kivu, we drive past tea plantations, interacting with local people going on about their daily lives, we stop along the route for photo-ops, as this part of Rwanda is simply magical and absolutely gorgeous.
You will experience a boat cruise to monkey and napoleon islands where you partake in short hikes, monkey spotting as well as bird watching for avid birders.

Day 5:Nyungwe forest national park
Today we continue with the Rwanda motorcycle safari as we ride towards Nyungwe. The roads to Nyungwe are an absolute joy to ride, as you will be riding through tea plantations, sharp winding corners in the middle of a thick tropical African rainforest. You may spot chimps along the riding route. Arrival at Nyungwe is foreseen in the afternoon where you can do on a canopy walk suspended in the middle of the forest. We then continue with the motorcycle safari to Butare the education city of Rwanda and home to Rwanda’s largest university.

Day 6: Departure to Lake Mugesera
Today we head to Lake Mugesera with a motorcycle tour stop at the King’s Palace Museum in Nyanza. We taste the beautiful aromatic Rwandan coffee and learn about the Rwanda local cows.

Day 7: Departure to Akagera National Park
We are not yet done with the Rwanda motorcycle tour as we today depart from Lake Mugesera and head out to Akagera game park. Enroute we explore lakes Sake and Mugesera.

Day 8: Safari Game Drive in Akagera National Park.
We take a break from our Rwanda rental motorcycles for the tour and step into the support 4x4 safari van for game drives in Akagera in search of the big five. We check out lake Ihema home to a number of endemic birds, hippos, crcocs, the shoe bill, papyrus gonolek, kingfisher and so many other bird species.

Day 9: Lake Muhazi
Time to depart Akagera as the Rwanda motorcycle tour proceeds to Lake Muhazi. We meet and interact with locals, drive through beautiful quiet villages and enjoy sundowners on the banks of Lake Muhazi.

Day 10: Kigali City Tour - Departure
All good things come to an end. We have come to the end of our Rwanda motorcycle adventure as we depart lake Muhazi and begin the drive back to Kigali where our Rwanda motorbike safari holiday ends. We drop off the rental motorbikes at our Kigali depot and transfer to Kigali airport in the support safari minivan
