This tour can be run as a self guided tour of a maximum of 2 motorcycle riders. We shall provide you with the rental motorbikes for the tour, book your accommodations for the Uganda Rwanda motorcycle tour, purchase your gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits and golden monkey permits.  The self guided tour can be run any time of the year.

For more than 2 riders, we run the Uganda Rwanda motorcycle tour as a guided tour with a support vehicle, a mechanic for up to 6 motorcycle tour participants, a mechanic assistant for more than 6 motorcycle tour riders. We shall again book all your motorcycle tour accommodations, purchase your gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits, golden monkey permits, boat cruises and pay for all your park entrance fees leaving to focus on enjoying the beauty of Rwanda , the Land of a Thousand Hills and Uganda the pearl of Africa.

Uganda and Rwanda are both diverse and beautiful countries yet different in so many ways. What a better way to have the best of both worlds when you join the 14 days Uganda and Rwanda motorcycle tour. The Uganda-Rwanda motorcycle tour starts in Entebbe Uganda, we cross the border into Rwanda for 5 days of pure motorcycle tour adventure before heading back into Uganda and finishing the motorcycle tour in Entebbe Uganda. In Rwanda we will be riding on mostly gravel roads and asphalt roads, along beautiful motorcycle routes, tracking Chimpanzees in Nyungwe, driving along the Lake Kivu trail from Kibuye to Gisenyi, before heading north to Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey tracking.

We eventually cross the border back into Uganda via the Cyanika border crossing, heading into Bwindi for a date with the gorillas. The Motorcycle tour then proceeds through Ishasha where we meet the tree climbing lions before we arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park for fascinating game drives and a boat cruise for a glimpse of the big five in Uganda. The Uganda-Rwanda motorcycle tour then proceed to Kibale national park for chimpanzee tracking and the Bigodi swamp walk, before we finally head back to Kampala riding through scenic tea plantations.

Day 1: Entebbe; Arrival

Arrival at Entebbe airport, where you will be met by our airport motorcycle tour representative and tour support vehicle driver. You will be transferred to a beautiful hill in Bujuuko along Mityana road. Bujuuko is a beautiful hill with panoramic views of all of Kampala’s 17 hill and more. We will stay at the magnificent boutique Arabella Lodge that overlooks the forest valley and peaceful Ugandan village. You will have a chance to check out the motorcycle tour motorbikes, get acclimatised and be entertained by a local dance troupe over a campfire ready for the start of the motorcycle tour the following morning.

Day 2: Bujuuko-Lake Mburo.

After a very early breakfast, we get on the tour motorcycles and follow a gravel road that passes through beautiful villages and lush green forests before connecting the main Kampala-Masaka highway at Katende. We drive on a tarmac road with sharp winding corners before arriving at the Equator crossing for photo ops before proceeding to Lake Mburo where we spend the night at either Rwakobo Rock or a secluded tented camp within the Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 3: Lake Mburo to Lake Bunyonyi.

Lake Mburo park is famous for herds of Zebra, buffalos and giraffes. We ride through the park in search of wildlife and game. There is abundant birdlife in Lake Mburo, so avid birders will be on the lookout for endemic bird species here. We ride through lake Mburo park before connecting to Mbarara and onward to Lake Bunyonyi, a scenic lake in South Western Uganda. We arrive in the late afternoon and have a chance to park our tour motorbikes and jump into dug-out canoes for boat rides on the serene calm waters f Lake Bunyonyi. Dinner and overnight at a small tented camp/lodge in Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 4. Lake Bunyonyi-Kigali.

A very early start to the Uganda Rwanda tour as we leave Lake Bunyonyi and head into Rwanda via Kabale and the Gatuna border crossing between Uganda and Rwanda. We shall complete border crossing formalities for the rental motorbikes before driving on towards Kigali through sharp winding curves and corners along tree lined roads before we descend into Kigali. The afternoon is spent in Kigali, visiting the genocide memorial in Gisozi. We visit a local market and have dinner at a nice restaurant in Kigali before retiring at our accommodation at Banana Boutique hotel or similar in Kigali.

Day 5. Kigali – Nyungwe.

It is time to depart from Kigali and head south to Nyungwe via Butare. We have a stopover along the way to visit the King’s palace in Nyanza and the national museum in Butare. We jump on our tour motorcycles and head further South driving through the tropical lush forests of Nyungwe, onward through beautiful tea plantations in Gisakura and finally arriving at our overnight accommodation at E.A. R guest house.

Day 6: Nyungwe -Kibuye.

Today morning is spent in the magnificent Nyungwe Forest area. Optional activities include chimpanzee tracking or a canopy walk suspended over the forest. Lunch and then we drive onwards to Kibuye through beautiful tea plantations arriving in Kibuye in the early evening before checking into Moriah Hill Resort for overnight.

Day 7: Kibuye to Ruhengeri.

We have an exciting motorcycle tour day ahead as we depart Kibuye and ride along the beautiful Lake Kivu on a good gravel and tarmac road popular known as The Congo Nile Trail, arriving in Gisenyi in time for lunch on the shores of Lake Kivu. After lunch we jump on our motorcycles again and proceed with the Uganda-Rwanda motorcycle tour for the beautiful 1.5hrs ride up to Ruhengeri home of the Rwanda gorillas.. overnight at  Muhabura Hotel or other boutique hotel in Kinigi.

Day 8 :Ruhengeri to Nkuringo in Uganda.

We track the golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park very early in the morning. We then have a chance to ride around the magnificent twin lakes of Bulera and Ruhondo before driving out of Rwanda through the Cyanika border crossing into Uganda. The motorcycle tour then goes through the small town of Kisoro and finally arriving in Bwindi’s Nkuringo gorilla trekking sector. Nkuringo is a beautiful  hilly place with awesome motorcycling trails on the shores of Lake Mutanda.

Day 9: Gorilla trekking.

A very early start to the today. We wake up very early and ride from our lodge to the gorilla tracking park headquarters either in Nkuringo or Ruhija. Arrival at gorilla Park headquarters by 7am for pre-gorilla trekking briefing. We get allocated into groups of 8 and depart on motorbikes to the gorilla tracking trailheads where we leave our bikes and head into the thick rainforest of Bwindi in search for the gorillas. We’re led into the forest by experienced gorilla tracking guides. On finding the gorillas, we spend an hour with them, take photos and videos of this memorable encounter, before leaving the gorillas alone and return to the trailheads where we left our motorcycles. We ride back to the lodge via exciting village trails, meeting and interacting with the locals.

Day 10:  Bwindi – Ishasha- Queen Elizabeth National Park.

It is time to depart from Bwindi and continue with our Uganda Rwanda motorcycle tour to Ishasha famous for the tree climbing lions. Enroute to Ishasha we have game drives through the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. We then continue riding through the park until we arrive at our lodge for the night Bush Lodge, a beautiful accommodation with tented camps and where encounters with game and wildlife is not unusual. Evening game drives in the park in search of lions, buffalos, leopards, giraffes and so many other animals that roam in this vast park..

Day 11: Queen Elizabeth National Park.

We spend all day today exploring the vast game rich Queen Elizabeth National Park in search of the big five and abundant birdlife that is found in the park. We have an afternoon boat cruise on the Kazinga channel that connects lakes Edward and Lake George. It is an opportunity to see lots of wildlife, game and aquatic animals as they come to the shores of the lakes to drink in the scorching afternoon African sun. At the end of the boat cruise we jump on our motorbikes again and go for an evening game drive for another opportunity to ride through the park in search of game and wildlife.

An awesome experience of a motorcycle tour that is not easy to forget.

Day 12: Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kibale Forest National Park

We depart Queen and Uganda Rwanda motorcycle tour continues the motorcycle adventure to Kibale where we track the chimps in the afternoon and have a Bigodi swamp walk in search of birds and the abundant primates that live here. The ride from Queens is a beautiful one with great views of the mountains of the moon, The Rwenzori in the background. Arrival is anticipated in the early evening driving through thick beautiful lush green forests until we arrive at our camp for the night, Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 13: Kibale to Bujuuko.

We depart from our camp after an early breakfast and jump onto our motorcycles again, riding through the beautiful Fort Portal town, through vast tea plantations and head towards Mubende via Kyenjojo. Lunch is foreseen at Kirangwa forest plantation, (entrance US$30 per person) a vast 800 acres pine and eucalyptus plantation with magnificent motorcycling trails before settling down for lunch and freshly roasted delicious Ugandan goat meat. We depart from Kirangwa forest and continue our motorcycle tour towards Mityana on a challenging road full of potholes. We drive through Mityana until we arrive at our lodge on Bujuuko hill where the motorcycle tour adventure ends. We arrive to a cocktail party with cold Ugandan local beers and barbecue where we have a chance to reminisce on the fond memories of the past 13 days as we traversed the beautiful and gifted by nature lands of Uganda and Rwanda. Overnight at Arabella Lodge Bujuuko.

Day 14: Bujuuko to Entebbe Departure.

Most flights to Europe depart in the late evening, the day is spent at leisure in Bujuuko. After lunch it is time to say goodbye to our motorcycle tour support staff and Uganda as we head back to Entebbe airport in the support minivan.
